Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of WorldsTopSchools.com("the Site") operated by World's Top Schools ("WTS", "we", "us"). By using the Site you accept these terms.

1. What WTS is

WTS is an independent editorial publication that ranks and profiles schools. Our rankings are our own opinions, based on the composite score described in our methodology. We do not accept payment for placement or ranking, and no school controls its own score.

2. Editorial and factual accuracy

We take reasonable care to ensure profiles are accurate, but school data changes constantly. Numbers marked with an amber "Est." chip are editorial estimates and are not guaranteed to be current. Before making any admissions decision please verify fees, term dates and admissions criteria directly with the school. If you find a factual error, email corrections@worldstopschools.com— we publish corrections within 48 hours of confirming them.

3. Your account

An account is not required to browse the Site. If you create one via Google sign-in, you agree to keep your login credentials secure and are responsible for activity under your account. We may suspend accounts that abuse the Site (spam reviews, scraping, contact-form abuse).

4. User-submitted content (reviews, comments, replies)

• You keep ownership of anything you submit, but you grant us a royalty-free, worldwide licence to publish, moderate, translate and excerpt it on the Site.
• You warrant that the content is your own honest experience and does not defame anyone, break any court order, or breach anyone's privacy or copyright.
• We moderate every review before publication. We may edit for length, redact identifying details of children, and reject content that breaches these terms.
• Schools that consider a review factually inaccurate can file a Notice & Takedown — see §5.

5. Schools' right to reply and takedown

• Every school profile carries a "Right of Reply" contact. A verified representative can post a public reply of up to 500 words to any review.
• A school can submit a Notice & Takedown request through the same contact. We aim to resolve every request within 48 hours: verified factual errors are corrected, defamatory content is removed, and legitimate opinion reviews stay published with the school's reply attached.

6. No pay-for-placement, no advertising, no advance previews

We do not sell ranking positions, advertising slots or advance previews of upcoming rankings. "Verified Plus" is a paid subscription that grants schools an owner-verified badge, extra profile content (Instagram embed, event calendar, availability by year) and the ability to reply to reviews at scale. It does not influence the school's rank or composite score.

7. Third-party links

Profiles link out to schools' own websites, prospectuses and social media. We're not responsible for the accuracy or availability of anything on those third-party sites.

8. AI-generated content

Some editorial text on profiles (tagline, verdict, pros/cons) is drafted by an LLM as a starting point and edited by a human editor before publication. Fees figures shown with a linked "View source" are extracted from the school's own tuition page (or PDF thereof) subject to a verbatim-source sanity check. AI-drafted content is not a substitute for direct enquiry with the school.

9. Prohibited use

• Scraping the Site or the API without written permission.
• Using the Site to send unsolicited emails to schools or other users.
• Reverse-engineering or attempting to disrupt the Site.
• Submitting reviews on behalf of a school without disclosing that affiliation.

10. Disclaimers and liability

The Site is provided on an "as is" basis. We do not warrant that any specific ranking, score or profile is complete, current or fit for a particular decision. To the fullest extent permitted by law we exclude implied warranties. Our aggregate liability for any claim arising from your use of the Site is limited to £100.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under UK law (fraud, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, etc.).

11. Termination

We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms. You may delete your account at any time from your account settings.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales, save that consumers may also bring proceedings in the courts of their country of residence where required by law.

13. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted here and, for signed-in users, emailed at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Site after the effective date means you accept the new terms.
